Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)

(For qualifying students ages 16-22)

Pre-Employment Transition Services, referred to as Pre-ETS, provides students with disabilities an early start on exploring career interests and preparing for adult life.

Hargraves Outreach, Inc. works with students and their families, their schools, DARS (Department for Aging and Rehabilitation Services) and community partners to enhance transition planning and supporting students with gaining the knowledge and experiences necessary to make informed decisions about their future. 

Pre-ETS activities focus on five areas:

Career Exploration

Students will begin exploring career interests.

Work-Based Learning Experiences

Students will use the workplace to gain knowledge and skills that connect school experiences to career opportunities.

Counseling on Educational &
Training Opportunities

Students will learn about post-secondary education and training opportunities and resources.

Workplace Readiness Training

Prepare students for adult life by developing social and independent living skills.

Instruction in Self-Advocacy

Teach students how to effectively communicate their needs and direct their own life.

Note: All individuals participating in the Pre-ETS program must be referred through Department of Aging and Rehabilitation Services (DARS).
